Stuart studied piano and conducting at Trinity College of Music and Musical Directing at the Royal Academy of Music where he was made an Associate in 2012.
Musical Director credits include We Will Rock You, Les Misérables, Elf, Big, Only Fools and Horses, Tommy, Sleepless, Brian May & Kerry Ellis's Anthems, Starmus VI and The Show Must Go On.
Musical Supervisor credits include We Will Rock You (US & UK Tours, Brazil, Denmark, Romania, Germany, RCCL), Only Fools & Horses (West End & UK Tour), Elf (UK Premiere & West End), The Baker's Wife (Menier Chocolate Factory), Eugenius (The Other Palace), Sleepless (Troubadour), Big (UK Premiere & West End), Strictly Ballroom (UK Tour), Whistle Down the Wind (The Watermill), Close-Up (Menier Choclate Factory), The Bodyguard (Denmark, Sweden). Stuart was Associate Musical Supervisor of the Olivier Award winning production of Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour (NTS & West End), Choral Director for Chess in Concert and Associate Musical Director for the West End productions of Cabaret (Lyric) and Wicked.
Stuart has conducted concerts with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Scottish Festival Orchestra, London Mozart Players, Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, Armenian State Philharmonic Orchestra and the Armenian National Opera Orchestra. He conducted three albums with former Royal Harpist Claire Jones (with the English Chamber Orchestra and London Mozart Players).

In 2018 Stuart completed his PhD at the Royal Academy of Music. He is proud to be on the teaching faculty at the Royal Academy of Music and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Stuart was the chairman and founder of the International Music Director Symposium which was held the Royal Academy of Music in 2021.He is currently the Musical Director of the West End production of Les Misérables at the Sondheim Theatre.
